I thought it was great. If people would stop being negative for the sake of just being negative and be honest it was a good movie and if people keep bashing hey guess what they won’t make more but wow guess what? If people are honest and admit they like it we will get more content which is a win you stupid negative Nancy’s.
Peter, we still wait for the extended extended edition of lord of the rings that includes more scenes of the battle of Dagorlad, more party with those iconic hobbit dances that actors trained so much and many many more.
Many would pay, watch this longer, version even if it wasnt very perfectly made. Even if those cuts would be strangly put in the movie.

Tolkien did not appoint Any movie screenwriters to continue his legacy. He opposed all of this exploitation. He did not want the gaps in lore filled. He wanted the gaps to remain, so that they lent the works he Did publish a sense of timeless mythic depth. Boyens Jackson etc are all opportunists seeking to advance their own careers and line their own pockets. If they truly cared about Tolkien and his legacy they would respect his wishes and leave his works alone.
Tolkien is rolling in his grave right now.

I love a lot of the middle earth artifacts made as props, but that sword….
