Going to get a lot of hate here. Maddox was a great pitcher, but he cheated with the scuff and was absolutely the recipient of a ton of strike calls inches off the plate just because he hit the spot where the Cather was setup. Not dogging him for taking advantage of this system, but the way he cheated the system is no different than hitters using roids. He was great but absolutely cheated and gamed the system and has admitted as much and got away with it and had an advantage because of this. If hitters are demonized for using roids then Maddox should be demonized for cheating as well
