What led to superyacht sinking?
Investigators have said that the superyacht owned by tech billionaire Mike Lynch capsized off the coast of Sicily because of design flaws and the crew not being aware of its susceptibility to high winds.

A Marine Accident Investigation Branch report said that Lynch, his daughter and five others were killed when the Bayesian was hit by high winds in August last year.
The Bayesian, which had a 237-foot mast, capsised in seconds and sank within a few minutes.

Telephony of all guests and crews' phones and their movements would be interesting.
'The crew not being aware…'
They weren't aware but not about design flaws but about the ensuing storm.
Why was the Captain up and prepared at 3am for the storm but a deckhand posting videos between 3.45 to 3.54am.
priority was to extend the keel, wake everyone, man the helm, or start the engines, raise keel and move closer to shore. One hour is enough.
They were all asleep or elsewhere apart from the deckhand filming a storm.
And why was one of the engine room windows in a door broken.
And how come the engineer had his phone plugged in in the cubby hole with a bed in the engine room. He didn't actually sleep there. So why was his phone there. Where was he?
And why did the ship sink rear first if the waters came into the saloon and crew and guest rooms below. It would have sunk nose first as engine rooms were separate from that area.
Could it be possible that the engineer was on the shore as suggested by the chefs lawyer, that the engine room was locked with his phone in the cubby hole, that a window was broken to access it, that a door or hatch might have been opened to access it, that water had ingressed into the engine room that someone inexperienced to start the yacht was commanded to do so, who started the generators to the hydraulic props and turned too suddenly causing the water inside to heave to the port side and coupled with the 80 mph gust the boat to jar suddenly.
Remember it only pushed 20 degrees at first, then 90 allegedly. Wind isn't that even or consistent. It is sporadic.
What else could have caused the tilt: Starting an engine and applying right prop and full throttle suddenly with the weight of accummulated water aiding the listing.
Just a theory. The broken window in the engine room bothers me. The phone in the cubby hole bothers me. The fact the Baden Powell were prepared at 3am bothers me. None of the other crew on the Bayesian were alert until 4am. Why not?
And we know they weren't alert because Mrs Baccares was woken by the boat movement as were two other guests and we're the couple with the baby and why was Mike Lynch in the same room as his lawyer and wife and his associate and wife but Hanna alone. No one went to wake the owner and guests and prepare them. The crew were asleep and reacted too late. It didn't sink in 16 minutes. It sank in an hour and 16 minutes. That hour could have saved all of them. What was the deckhand doing from 3am to 4am – surely not just watching a storm. What did the other crew do during that time. Two on board don't notice a storm is brewing!
Everyone is saying it sank in seconds. No it didn't. Consider your reactions when you wake in the morning. You are slow. You can't think straight. They must have been asleep apart from the youngster thinking it would be good fun to film a storm.
But why was an engine room window broken?
It was a Mossad operation as he had a hard drive with classified material on Israel’s covert illegal operations. He obtained this as leverage during his court battle with the computer company HP (Israeli owned).
Stupid tall mast with the keel up in a storm…..
The Marine Accident Investigation Bulletin (viz. https://www.gov.uk/maib-reports/foundering-of-the-yacht-bayesian-with-loss-of-7-lives) did not indicate any failure on the part of the crew. To the contrary, the bulletin indicated that the ship builder Perini Navi had failed to provide necessary documentation of the Bayesian’s inability to self-right from a modest (for a sailing vessel) angle of heel. The bulletin essentially exonerates the crew.
Crew failures ? Were did ther report say that !
And we care because??
Don’t believe this for one minute. He was killed immediately after being acquitted in an American court…. His Co defendant was killed in a car crash the previous week…. Mmmmmm
Comedy gold for the idiots
A sail ship that sinks in the wind. Genuis
Your billions couldn't save them.
